Tom Stichman has been a
full time electronic trader since 1997. He’s a partner
in the Chicago Trading Experience, and is founder and
sole operator of SNPTrader.com, an online workshop that
teaches others his successful trading techniques. Tom
spent 4 years trading on an electronic trading floor,
learning a variety of techniques and trading styles. Tom
was a featured speaker on a webinar with Mirus Futures
and has appeared on market analyst Kevin Cook's program
on Onn.tv. Tom is also featured as an expert with
TraderKingdom.
Tom believes trading must
be kept simple, using the latest, most relevant market
data combined with proven techniques that give you an
edge over the ordinary trader. He teaches his students
how to analyze the market, and how to employ methods and
strategies that will keep them out of bad trades and put
them into good ones. “When I trade, I believe in three
basic principles: Patience, Discipline and Confidence. I
believe all traders must follow these principles to be
successful in the marketplace,” he says.
In his past life, Tom was a
U.S. Navy and commercial airline pilot. Some might ask,
“How does this apply to trading?” Well, it applies
directly. Flying teaches you how to multi-task, how to
focus on many critical variables all at once, and
understand how they impact the decisions you must make.
Not too different from how a good trader must correctly
read the various market signals to find good trading
opportunities.
It also taught Tom the
importance of flexibility, adapting quickly to changing
circumstances – developing the quick decision-making
that successful traders use every day.
Tom’s major trading market
is the E-mini S&P.
